By centering community needs, we reduce the harm that poverty and racism has on health so families have access to resources and tools to feed and house their families, make economic gains, and use their creative talents to build a just and equitable community.

Makerspace education is a strong vehicle for building community connections. We look forward to commencing these activities as we re-open for non-essential services in 2021.

A workforce and youth maker program for teens. Teens become versed in the product design, assembly, and business development while also working as leaders in the makerspace. Our first product, the What Kind of Maker Are You key chains and necklaces were made and sold at our Maverick Community Connector event in 2018.

Our repertoire of workshops, facilitated groups and events also include community building opportunities for adults such as sewing, knitting, and jewelry making.

As we wrap up the summer program the Outreach and Media team decided we wanted to create a magazine where we could inform on topics that have been impacting our community for a while. Here you’ll find information on the BLM Movement, gentrification, COVID-19, MLCS and East Boston. We proudly present to you “Eastie’s Voice”.
