Position: Resident Services Coordinator
Start Date: Immediately
Compensation: 40 hrs per week/$27.00 per hour/benefits
POSITION SUMMARY: The Resident Services Coordinator provides support to a diverse group of residents, mainly family & elderly residents, living in affordable housing sites. The position requires a motivated and resourceful individual who is sensitive to resident needs; has excellent service coordination, teambuilding, and systems navigation and case management skills; and can thrive in a relatively independent environment working with a population affected by trauma and with diverse mental health needs.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Case Work/Information and Referral and Administration
Conduct intake, orientation, and needs assessment of residents, constructing an appropriate customized services plan that identifies services/benefits that best fit their needs
Provide direct services such as case management, information and referrals, and translation assistance
Support application to RAFT and other housing assistance and utilities assistance programming as well as SNAP, WIC and other social welfare benefits assistance programs as needed.
Complete detailed case notes, thoroughly documenting referrals, services plans and outcomes
Develop on-going cooperative network of government and social service agencies
Serve as an advocate and liaison for residents with service agencies and/or property management
Maintain case management records in Civi CRM and ensure consistent and precise record keeping of case referral processes and ongoing updates.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related field OR combination of education/experience in providing case management services and coordinating community resources and social services for individuals and families
Experience in benefits systems navigation with culturally diverse populations
Spanish language fluency preferred
Ability to communicate clearly, in an oral and written fashion
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Ability to work with people from ethnically and socio-economically diverse backgrounds
Sensitivity to mental health, substance abuse, and issues impacting populations served
Ability to troubleshoot and prioritize work
Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations and exercise crisis de-escalation and resolution skills where appropriate
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Capacity to operate independently and resourcefully, taking initiative and exercising own judgment for majority of work
Good analytical, problem-solving, and follow through skills
Ability to work in fast-paced team environment
Knowledge of community resources and services, with particular emphasis in family and youth area
Strong organizational skills
Computer skills: MS Word, Excel

Must be able to get to housing communities in East Boston where services are provided.
Ability to travel throughout the building and attend meetings throughout the community
Ability to handle a significant level of stress
Ability to set up and clean up facilities for events with occasional lifting and pushing.
