Lab.
Housing Stability. Benefits Access. Community Support.
Whether you're facing a housing issue, struggling to access benefits, caring for a family member, or simply unsure where to turn, MLCS walks alongside East Boston residents every step of the way.
The Housing Support Lab helps residents navigate the complex systems that determine housing stability—from applications and documentation to landlord negotiations, benefits, legal resources, and financial assistance—reducing barriers that often cause families to lose housing.
Open To The Entire East Boston Community
Beyond our housing communities, MLCS operates walk-in Housing Lab and Community Resource Center where East Boston residents can receive support navigating housing, public benefits, healthcare, employment, disability services, and other social service systems.
Resident Services Where People Live
We’re contracted by housing management partners to provide on-site resident services at Maverick Landing, Grace Apartments. and Lewis Mall, helping residents access resources, strengthen household stability, and remain connected to their community.
Making an Impact.
Strengthening Communities.
We provide resident services that empower individuals and strengthen communities across housing developments in East Boston
Communities We Serve
Partnering with the property management companies East Boston Community Development Corporation (EBCDC) and Trinity Management Company, we’re able to expand our reach to serve the residents of the three East Boston sites of Maverick Landing, Grace Apartments, and Lewis Mall. Empowering vulnerable populations through difficult times, residents receive competent and informed advocate services right where they call home.
Dignity. Access. Stability.
Our Case Managers are trusted navigators helping Eastie community members overcome the numerous barriers that come with navigating complex systems of support. They support people through some of the most urgent and challenging systems, walk alongside clients every step of the way, acting as a final line of support when other doors have closed. Whether it’s securing housing, applying for public benefits like SNAP or TAFDC, accessing elder care and disability resources, or understanding healthcare options like Medicaid and Medicare, our innovative and experienced Case Managers ensure no one falls through the cracks.
Our Case Management Team aims to restore hope, empower decision-making, and build the bridges people need to move forward.
Maverick Landing
Home to MLCS’s main office and original community base, the Maverick Landing property has 396 mixed-income units developed by Trinity Management, EBCDC, and BHA. It represents a huge transition for the East Boston neighborhood, replacing the “superblock” public housing style with townhomes, duplexes, and apartments.
Grace Apartments
With it’s new construction in 2024 headed by EBCDC, Grace Apartments is a welcome addition to the Maverick Square area. The building provides 42 total units of fixed and subsidized housing to residents aged 55+, allowing households to afford the rising East Boston rent prices and access the community with its central location.
Lewis Mall
The Lewis Mall apartments developed by EBCDC allows residents aged 62+ to receive specialized supportive services provided by NeighborHealth’s Neighborhood PACE program while maintaining their independence to thrive. All 47-units are subsidized to prioritize the financial health of each household.
